There are several routes in Portugal. All of them cross the country from south to north towards Galicia in Spain. The Portuguese Main or Central Route, which passes by Lisbon, Coimbra, and Oporto, is the most travelled route in Portugal and, according to existing data, it is the second most taken route of the various roads in Europe.
We suggest the path along the old Oporto-Barcelos-Valença road, passing by Ponte de Lima, continuing through Spain. This route so rich in medieval buildings such as churches, bridges and other monuments, runs along ancient paths that cross woods, historical villages, towns, and cities.
